What happens when traditional hutongs from the 13th century (traditional courtyard houses connected by narrow lanes and alleyways) meet the extravagant opulence afforded by a 21st century hotel? Well you’re about to find out come 2018 when Mandarin Oriental Qianman, Beijing opens.

Located in the traditional Qianmen East Hutong Quarter which is currently undergoing a process of preservation and regeneration, the luxury hotel project is in the heart of the action, within easy walking distance of Beijing’s major tourist attractions including Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven.

The hotel will be dispersed throughout the Qianmen East Hutong Quarter alongside privately owned traditional residences, retail outlets, restaurants, bars and cultural venues. With its spacious and luxurious landscaped courtyard suites, guests can bask in the charm of authentic Beijing surroundings in one of the city’s oldest quarters.

A variety of dining venues will also be dispersed within the hutong courtyards, including an all-day dining concept with a roof terrace, a Chinese restaurant, a lobby lounge, a traditional tea lounge, as well as a signature Mandarin cake shop.

If you feel like exercising, there’s also an indoor swimming pool and a well-equipped fitness centre.

After a day of sightseeing in the capital city, wind down at the iconic Spa at Mandarin Oriental to rejuvenate your senses and relax in a serene setting.
