Humpback now offers seafood brunch dishes, refreshing new cocktails and customisable Bloody Marys

Step through the white french doors and be greeted with alternative rock music that will take you back to the 90’s.

Humpback used to be the cool kid in town that only opened for dinner and drinks. Now they’re open every Sunday for brunch as well.

The casual, laidback vibe and the constant stream of natural sunlight make Humpback an ideal place to gather friends and family for a leisurely brunch.

The best of brunch

Eggs Benedict with Crab and Avocado (1)

Eggs benedict with crab and avocado.

No Sunday brunch menu is complete without Eggs Benedict ($12/$20). Humpback puts their own spin on it by serving a version topped with sliced crab and avocado. The creamy mixture makes for the perfect accompaniment for the crisp slice of toast.

Fried Eggs with Octopus, Orzo and Tete de Moine (2)

For something you won’t find on any other brunch menu, try Humpback’s Fried Eggs ($14/$24), an interesting mixture of Italian orzo, Tete de Moine cheese and octopus. It is then topped with a crusted fried egg that oozes luscious egg yolk once it has been cut into. I loved the combination of the chewy octopus and creamy pasta but due to the richness of the cheese, it might be best to share this.

Lobster Roll with Tobiko, Pickle and Fries (2)

Another hit was the premium Lobster Roll ($39). The sweet, succulent meat is mixed with tobiko fish roe and pickle to add a little zing to the mayo mixture. Rest assured that the butter bread roll was stuffed with lobster and is well worth the heftier price tag.

Most of Humpback’s dishes come in either a single portion or a double. We recommend ordering the larger portion and share them among friends. This way, you get to try a larger variety of their extensive brunch menu.

Don’t miss the oysters

I will be the first to admit that I have never been a fan of oysters but the fresh Pacific Northwest oysters caught me off guard. They lacked the fishy, metallic taste that I find off putting in oysters and were instead delicate in taste and texture. At $2-3 per oyster thanks to their all-day happy hour offer, Humpback is the best oyster and seafood brunch in town.
