Sure, you’ve heard “Colours Of The Wind” and “Let It Go” maybe a hundred times, but have you heard them in French? What about sung live by a French children’s choir?
On 20 and 21 November, France’s internationally-acclaimed Les Petits Chanteurs de Saint Marc (The Saint Marc Children’s Choir) treat you and your loved ones to a magical concert at the Victoria Concert Hall. Featuring popular Disney tunes, sung in both French and English, the performance is a delightful way to rediscover your favourite Disney songs through a new language and re-arranged harmonies.
You can look forward to timeless classics like “When You Wish Upon A Star” from Pinocchio, to the hits from Frozen. And if Disney music doesn’t get you in the festive spirit already, the young choristers will also be singing a variety of favourite Christmas carols.
What a great way for the whole family to celebrate Christmas while appreciating the arts!
Joining the choristers is Singapore’s own oboist, Quek Jun Rui. The 17-year-old student at the NUS Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music will be playing the oboe in beautiful harmony with the special piano and choral arrangements, for six songs.
Made up of boys and girls between ages eight and 14, the Saint Marc Children’s Choir hails from Lyon, France. They are also well-known for singing in the Oscar-nominated movie “Les Choristes.”
This concert is their first one ever in Singapore. The choir’s repertoire ranges from spiritual hymns to classical and contemporary music, which they have performed on prestigious stages all across the world. Just check out the video below of the Choir performing popular Korean song “The Magic Castle” in South Korea!
The choristers’ talents also got them invited to perform for Prince Charles:
