Why China’s Xiamen Should Be Your Next Travel Destination

China's "most romantic leisure city" beckons with its slow pace of life and high quality of living

Compared to the rest of China, especially Beijing and Shanghai, Xiamen is a slow-paced city. Nobody seems to be in a rush to get anywhere, and as a result, people are friendly and very patient. Whether your interests lie in the arts, nature, or good food, Xiamen has got something to cater.

Xiamen University, one of the top 10 most beautiful college campus in China

Located in Siming South Road, Siming District, Xiamen, Xiamen University was founded in 1921 by Mr Tan Kah Kee, a prominent patriotic overseas Chinese leader. It is also the first university founded by an overseas Chinese in the history of modern Chinese education. Famous Chinese personalities like Yu Guangzhong, Lin Feng, Yi Zhongtian, Lu Xun and others are all alumni of Xiamen University. Because of its unique combination of Chinese and Western architectural styles, Xiamen University is hailed as “one of China’s most beautiful campus.”

Furong Tunnel (芙蓉隧道)

It’s surprising how we could spend an entire day on the campus. You could stroll down the lake with your loved one, take plenty of OOTDs in the grattifi-filled Furong Tunnel, take it slow and read a book in the 1921 cafe, write and send some postcards, or walk off some of the calories from the travel-eating by walking around the the Xuan Stadium.
