Day 2

10am

Cara: After sending my husband off to the spa, I took my daughter to the Kids’ Club for some mother daughter bonding. My little girl loved the large fountain pool and massive slide, and wasted no time in splashing around. The second storey also offered a spacious play area complete with Lego blocks, dolls, musical instruments and plenty of toys. For older kids, they’ve got scheduled activities like baking and balloon sculpting.

Samantha: Following a hearty breakfast at Tadd’s Restaurant, we headed to the Montigo Watersports shack for our kayaking session. After some guidance and instructing, we found ourselves easing into the sea in our own little kayaks. Manoeuvring around the pier and beyond, we found ourselves singing and chuckling as we raced each other back to the shore.

12pm

Cara: With rumbling bellies, we returned to Tadd’s Restaurant for lunch. Noticing I had a child with me, the staff immediately ushered us to a table and offered us a baby chair. The kid’s menu also doubled as a colouring sheet, to my daughter’s delight. While my husband and I enjoyed the buffet spread, our little one indulged in fish fingers, chicken nuggets, fries and peanut butter sandwiches,

Samantha: Guided by experienced chef Risza, we whipped up a four-course meal by the poolside. The cooking class was fun, interactive and truly engaging. At the end of it, we indulged in a satisfying meal of Indonesian delights of gado-gado, pepes ikan, nasi goreng kampong and dadar gulung.

4pm

Cara: With the rest of the afternoon to spare, we hopped onto a vintage car and embarked on an adventure around Nongsa. The tour took us to several kampungs, mangrove beaches and more. We even spotted a traditional wedding along the way!

Samantha: Our muscles, aching nicely from our kayak session, were begging for a massage. So we made our way to the Montigo Spa where each of us selected a massage of our choice. I went for the Montigo Massage, which helped to relax the knots in my back.

7pm

Cara: We tried our hand at fishing by the jetty and were pleased that we managed to catch two fishes, after being taught by our guide. By then, we were famished and ready for our dinner at Pantai Restaurant.

Samantha: After changing into breezy sundresses, we made our way to Pantai Restaurant for a sunset dinner. The cosy seafood restaurant offered elegant yet authentic Indonesian cuisine, such as Nonya style garupa and Vietnamese spring rolls with jellyfish.
