Feel the rush as you leap from the world’s highest commercial jump-off point
In 1979, the first bungee jumpers were arrested for leaping off a 76-metre high suspension bridge in Bristol, England.
Today, you need not run foul of the law for bungee jumping in New Zealand, South Korea or Macau. Just ensure that you are certified fit!
What a Feeling!
Bungee jumping, popularised by New Zealander AJ Hackett, is probably the nearest thing to swinging like Spider-Man does deftly on celluloid and in comics.
Summon your guts if you are serious about it and do the jump in style. For instance, you can leap from the world’s highest commercial bungee jump-off point – the AJ Hackett Macau Tower, which stands at 233m.
For US$361, you will experience the ultimate free fall at 200km/h from the top of the tower, until you reach about 30m above ground, before rebounding a few times and finally gently landing on the airbag below.
The guide cables system ensures that you do not collide with the tower and enables bungee jumps in almost any weather condition.
Night Jump an Option
Opt for a night jump to see the bright lights of Macau while high up in the air. Night jumps start from 6pm in winter and 7.30pm in summer. Some feel that this is more thrilling as you won’t see as much apart from the city lights.
For your feat, you will be presented a Bungy Jump e-Certificate and a T-shirt. Souvenir items such as photo and video recording of your jump are also available.
Be warned: Check with your doctor on your fitness and health before making the trip for the jump. Also, you need to be able to fit into the harness to do the jump.
