Take in the magnificence of this snow white beauty on your next trip to the Alpine region

Standing at almost 15,000ft (about 4.6km) tall, the jagged yet majestic Matterhorn towers above the small car-free resort of Zermatt, Switzerland, in the heart of the Alps.
To conquer the Matterhorn is to dance with death. Roughly 500 alpinists have died in their quest, making it one of the deadliest peaks in the world.
That’s not to say you can’t get an eyeful of this beautiful pinnacle. Visitors can head to Klein Matterhorn, a vantage point where you can stand in awe of the Matterhorn and get a spectacular view of Italy and the French Alps.
To get here, purchase a Swiss Transfer Ticket that can take you from Zurich, Geneva or Basel Airport to Zermatt. There, head to the gondola station and ride to mid-station Furi, then transfer to a cable car to mid-station Trockener Steg, where you can change to another cable car leading you to Klein Matterhorn.
