What comes to mind when you think of Hokkaido? Picturesque snowy landscapes perhaps? Or the abundance of natural hot springs?
As a matter of fact, Hokkaido's Autumn season paints a picture entirely different from the winter wonderland we're all so familiar with. Here are some of the beautiful views we witnessed while embarking on the paths less trodden:
5. The household delicacy of Venison Shabu Shabu
Do not look at the facade and inconspicuous, お cuisine あ ま house but Michelin recommended restaurant in Japan. Into the restaurant, you will find most of the internal use of wood decoration, very Japanese. You can sit in an ordinary seat; you can also choose to sit in front of the sushi master bar seat, eat while watching; or you can set a private room, sitting on the ground.
Beneath its humble and inconspicuous facade, Cooking Amaya is actually a highly recommended restaurant in Japan. Once you step foot inside, you’ll find that the restaurant is decked out in wood which makes for a quintessentially Japanese abode.
If you’re looking for a show, the bar seats right in front of the sushi master are perfect.
You may sit at the sushi bar to watch these culinary masters show off their skills before serving the lineup of authentic Japanese delights. Sushi, shrimp – you name it, the restaurant got it!
If you only have enough stomach space for one dish, we strongly recommend the Venison shabu shabu that is served with a piping hot tomato soup base to bring out the sweetness of the venison. Once the venision is cooked, either try a slice on its own or enjoy it with a wedge of cheese. The taste of the melting cheese with the venison meat is simply incredible! Besides, venison is rich in protein and low in fat, so eat up on guilt-free feast guys!
