Our travel writer discovers an ideal stay for wholesome urban travel in Kuala Lumpur

Healthy but yummy
Many, including myself, tend to think that clean and healthy eating means blandness and dissatisfied tummies. But in the middle of a residential estate in Bangsar, we were proven wrong in the most delicious way.
You can spot Organica Lifestyle from a distance. This house has been repurposed into a mixed-use space comprising a café and a yoga studio, and as its name suggests, the café serves a menu of clean and organic food – but don’t be fooled into thinking it isn’t tasty.
Our table was unanimously blown away by its signature Quinoa Lemak; a modern love letter to the classic nasi lemak that uses quinoa instead of rice. The light chewy grain compliments the perfectly creamy coconut curry, which is served with chunks of tofu.
My only grief with the dish is that I wish there was more. From the city centre, Bangsar takes some time to get to – despite my newfound love for walking, I wouldn’t recommend you come here by foot – so call for a ride if you’d like to check it out.
If you’re not up for travelling out so far, Oasia’s in-house restaurant serves a mean (yet healthy) nasi lemak too, with deliciously tender chicken, fragrant crackers and blue coconut rice. This time, the large portion left me stuffed to the brim.
