7. Climb Galata Tower
You may have climbed it as an avatar in “Assassin’s Creed: Revelations,” but no video game can truly capture the majesty of this 14th century stone tower in Istanbul, nor the spectacular views from the top. Often compared to Rapunzel’s tower, the Galata Tower oozes with that fairy tale charm and romance. There’s an elevator that takes you up to the seventh floor, where you climb a bit of stairs to the observation deck on the ninth floor, and be rewarded by 360-degree views of the whole city and all its most iconic landmarks.
