Legoland Malaysia Unveils Refreshed Miniland Singapore To Celebrate SG60

If there’s one thing our family cherishes, it’s the tradition of pursuing pure wonder together.

This year, our three-park journey at LEGOLAND Malaysia felt like stepping into a universe crafted from imagination, nostalgia and vibrant creativity. At the centre of our adventure, the newly launched MINILAND Singapore was unquestionably the highlight.

The unveiling of Singapore MINILAND’s transformation, celebrating the Lion City’s 60th anniversary, immediately captured our interest. LEGOLAND has always been a family favourite destination, where all generations rediscover the joys of creativity and play. This visit was especially memorable, as we experienced first-hand how the refreshed attraction elevates technical ingenuity and interactive storytelling.

A Multi-Sensory Journey through Mini Singapore

Upon entering MINILAND Singapore, our eyes widened in amazement. Spread across 240m² and brought to life with over 1.5 million LEGO bricks, the zone is an architectural marvel—imbued with movement, sound, and engaging play. Sixteen iconic landmarks stood before us, animated not only by clever engineering but by more than 1,600 Minilanders, each figure infused with a unique personality. Whether mingling in markets, waving from balconies, or bustling along busy streets, every detail reflected the vibrancy of Singapore’s urban life.

We were immediately drawn to the Marina Bay Sands model. Towering at four metres, this centrepiece encapsulates the grandeur and allure of Singapore’s most recognisable landmark. Every detail was thoughtfully rendered, from the rooftop pool to the illuminated city skyline. Nearby, we marvelled at the rotating Singapore Flyer, where festive scenes and intricate cultural performances played out beneath the towering structure. The experience was far more than a simple tour; it was interactive, with opportunities to trigger moving vehicles, press buttons for animated features, and activate the Merlion Fountain’s lively water jet.

The Cloud Forest & Flower Dome resonated deeply with our family. Mist swirled across suspended walkways and lush gardens, while waterfalls cascaded, creating an almost enchanted atmosphere in this meticulously crafted miniature landscape.

The spectacular display also encourages visitors to play, pause, and uncover hidden surprises. For this, we took particular delight in controlling the One-Table-Left Race, a spirited dash between two LEGO families vying for the last table at a hawker centre—a playful homage to Singapore’s renowned food culture that united us in animated, friendly competition.

Family Adventures BEYOND Miniland Singapore

Our LEGOLAND Malaysia experience extended far beyond the excitement of the parks themselves. Staying overnight, we chose one of the Adventure-themed rooms on level two of LEGOLAND Hotel Malaysia—a vibrant setting inspired by Egyptian mysteries. As soon as we stepped inside, our curiosity was ignited by hieroglyphics, hidden treasures, and playful puzzles woven into every corner. The in-room treasure hunt became more than a game; it served as an engaging challenge that united us in lively teamwork, culminating in special LEGO prizes that the children were thrilled to discover. Practicality and family-friendly comfort are seamlessly integrated as the parents enjoy a spacious king-sized bed. At the same time, children have their private sleeping area, promising a good night’s rest after each exhilarating day.

Another noteworthy highlight we explored within the LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort is the newly introduced SEA LIFE aquarium. This internationally renowned aquarium brand elevates the resort’s educational and entertainment value. Here, our family journeyed through 11 distinct habitat zones, marvelling at over 13,000 aquatic creatures and learning about the ecological wonders of our planet through interactive storytelling and hands-on displays. The interactive nature of SEA LIFE was especially compelling, as we had the unique opportunity to physically touch and interact with starfish—an experience that delighted both children and adults.

Beyond these, our family relished exploring the Theme Park’s eight imaginative zones, each offering thrilling rides and captivating LEGO workshops. Additionally, our visit to the Water Park—the largest of its kind in Asia—was equally memorable, with its twenty unique slides, wave and wade pools, interactive water play areas, and the Build-A-Raft River providing endless family fun and adventure opportunities. Unfortunately, our eldest child fell just a few centimetres short of the 105cm minimum required for several major rides. Despite this, he remained upbeat, and we readily shifted our focus.
