We have limited days off from work and sometimes the best holiday is with a tour package. Here’s how you can pick a good one
Time is of the essence when we have limited days off from work. Travel to whichever destination of your choice must be well thought out and planned way in advance.
Sometimes the best way to maximise your holiday time and to simplify your holiday-planning is to sign up for a package tour. Fulfil your dream of going to Russia, Guatemala, Tibet or even South Africa with minimal planning and hassle.
We scour for some of the best tips to help you choose a package tour that is good and right for you.
1. Know What You Are Looking For
What exactly are you looking for? A trek through the road less travelled with loads of sight-seeing? Or, do you just want to see the basic sights and then head to the malls and markets to shop?
Be clear about what you want, and do some homework about what package you are paying (or not paying) for. Don’t let travel agents bully you into signing a package you don’t want, or that doesn’t even look good on paper.
2. Know Your Options
Always do a little bit of research, know your travel operator’s target market, and find out what options (from various agents) you have.
If you are a couple on your honeymoon, you certainly do not want to be stranded on a tour full of retirees or families with noisy children. You might, for instance, want to find packages specially-catered to couples on honeymoon, or perhaps even packages for younger groups of people.
Trust us, being trapped in a tour bus for long hours with people you don’t like certainly will not feel like a vacation
or be in the least bit enjoyable.
