4. El Morro 

The quintessential Havana landmark, El Morro is named after one of the three biblical magi and stands as a fortress guarding the entrance to Havana. Once housing a school for lighthouse keepers, this colonial-era Spanish castle is part of the Morro-Cabaña Military Historic Park, and was constructed back in the day to fend off pirates and other colonists, who were eager to gain control of this strategic transit hub between Europe and the rest of the Americas.
