6. An Earthship in the desert

If you’re all about that futuristic architecture of Star Wars, Star Trek, Starship Troopers or even “Fallout”, you’ll want to check this one out. Formidably named the Earthship, this house in New Mexico was built by the host over three years and is touted as “a totally off grid house”.

It catches its own water from rain, generates its own electricity and regulates its in-room temperature at a 22 deg Celsius all year round without the use of any fuel or electricity.

Despite being “off grid”, the Earthship has modern amenities like WiFi, Netflix with a flat screen TV and Bluray player, a large refrigerator, a large oven, a washing machine and a large bathroom with a deep tub.
