2. The West MacDonnell Ranges

The breathtaking landscapes of the West MacDonnell Ranges have inspired artists over the world. A 644km-wide mountain range, it’s dotted with hiking trails (including the famous Larapinta Trail), gorges and waterholes. Go for a swim among the towering, beautiful red cliffs of Ellery Creek Big Hole, Ormiston Gorge, and Glen Helen Gorge, three of the must-visit spots. You can also spend the night at one of the many comfortable campsites around the Ranges. You won’t get bored at the West Macs!
