This route in England will prove fascinating and enjoyable for families travelling with young children. The Isle of Wight boasts varied terrain and unique sights like lush rolling hills fronted by the sea, lanes hugged by hedges, white chalk cliffs and the intriguingly-named Troll Trail.
Troll Trail, between Merstone and Shide, is a smooth and vehicle-free path where children can occupy themselves discovering troll carvings and other artworks. For the rest of the family, Isle of Wight is also home to gastropubs, boutique inns and festivals around the year.
