3. Alpaca farm
Where: North Canterbury, New Zealand
The cosy little Silverstream Alpaca Farmstay is exactly what it sounds like. It’s home to approximately 230 multi-coloured alpacas, and each of its cottages can sleep up to five persons and opens out to a patio that overlooks the alpacas in the nearby paddocks.
Farmstay guests will receive a 30 minute-long farm tour where they can touch the alpacas, hold a cria (baby alpaca), takes lots of photographs and even walk an alpaca using a halter and lead.
