What better way is there to escape from reality than to plant yourself in an alternate - and possibly absurd - universe? We're not talking about movies or art galleries here; escape rooms launch you into an adventure where you and your friends must wield wits and courage to break out of a seemingly impossible situation.
We've had our fair share of escape games in Singapore - check out the most chilling ones that are now open - but here's a look at the craziest escape rooms in the world that we hope to be a part of one day.

3. A haunted hospital riddled with traps
The motherland of nightmares that go by names like The Ring and The Grudge, Japan is home to one of the scariest escape games in the world – a whole building set up to look, live and breathe like a haunted hospital.
Fuji-Q Highland’s haunted house has chambers of strange echoes, sudden sounds and terrifying scares, and you have an hour to navigate this huge maze. It’s so terrifying that there are various pink doors marked “Retire”, and there is no shame at all in having to scamper out through them.
Visitors have to decide their own starting point, and are free to explore any part of the ghost house – if you dare. The designer even prepared traps and pitfalls, which he refers to as “horror harassment”.
