9. Shop duty-free products even cheaper than at port

Giant gallerias that take up floors of deck space are not unheard of on cruises, and the clincher is that all of it is duty free. This means that the products aren’t tagged with local import taxes and you can save big dollars on goods like perfumes, watches, alcohol and bags.

As your ship is nearing the port, this is your chance to hop on a good deal. You’ll notice the shops setting up pop-up booths to offer even bigger discounts, as they’re often not allowed to sell duty-free items once in territorial waters.

Before you haul your bounty in, do take note of your duty-free allowance. Passengers who have spent more than 48 hours away from Singapore have a $600 allowance, and $150 for those away for less than 48 hours.
