8. For the Foodie: Hue, Vietnam
You’ve had pho and banh mi, but what about bun bo hue? The spicy beef noodle soup is the culinary pride of Hue, the former imperial capital located in central Vietnam. As many of the popular Hue dishes now used to be made exclusively for the royal Nguyen family, you’ll be feasting on food fit for a king. Besides bun bo hue, some must-try dishes include com hen (baby clams with rice), various rice and tapioca dumplings, banh ep (thin meat-filled tapioca pancake), and banh trang nuong (Vietnamese pizza). And the best places to enjoy them? At the street food stalls and the famous Dong Ba Market. Our vegetarian and vegan friends can also indulge in this food paradise, because Hue’s Buddhist heritage has made the city home to a variety of vegetarian restaurants, especially on Le Quy Don street!
