A small island in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines, Boracay is primarily known for its beaches, vibrant nightlife and rich waters for watersport enthusiasts.

Boracay’s main beach, often referred as White Beach, is divided into three parts: Station 1, Station 2 and Station 3. At Station 1's where the luxury hotels and other premium facilities are at, while Station 2 is known as the food and party hub. If you are looking for privacy, head to Station 3, the quietest part located at the southernmost corner of Boracay.

3. Mermaid swimming

If you’ve ever dreamed of being a mermaid when you were younger (or yesterday), the Philippine Mermaid Swimming Academy in Boracay can make your fantasy come true.

It offers mermaid swimming lessons familiarise participants with swishing about a mermaid tail underwater. Classes last for 90 minutes and also include a directed mini-photoshoot.

From mid October to June, the mermaid workshop is held at White Beach. From July to early October, lessons are conducted in a private pool due to the southwest monsoon that causes strong winds on the beachfront.

If you decide to take it to the next level, you can even continue with an Advanced Mermaid Swimming Lesson and a Mermaid Performer Course!

The Academy is located at Station 2, beside Nigi Nigi Resort, and lessons start from US$43. Attendance is by appointment only, and are held from 9am-5pm.
