The Great Singapore Sale season is here, but for those of us who are busy and prefer to avoid the crowds, you can shop a wide range of epic deals without even leaving your home. And the deals are all on one platform, too. Amazon is bringing back Amazon Prime Day on 15 and 16 July, and we get to join in the sale extravaganza, too!

Prime Day is the online retail giant’s huge annual online shopping event exclusive for Prime members and, for the second year running, it includes members in Singapore, among 18 total participating countries this year. Held over the full 48 hours, starting from midnight on 15 July (the same time worldwide, including Singapore Time), Prime Day 2019 will be the longest one yet in Amazon’s history. Prime members can look forward to more than one million deals from around the world and across various departments, including electronics, baby products, kitchen and home appliances, toys, and groceries. In addition to shopping, Prime Day will offer exclusive entertainment you won’t want to miss.

If you have not signed up for Amazon Prime yet, don’t wait long. You can sign up for the free 30-day free trial now just to take advantage of the Prime Day deals! After that, the subscription is only $2.99 per month, and you can cancel anytime.

What are some of the best deals to look out for?

Members can preview the deals on the Amazon Prime Now app now, “watch” your favourite deals and grab them when they drop on 15 July.

Electronic gadgets and appliances have often been the hottest sellers during past Prime Days. Save big on headphones, speakers, stand mixers, vacuum cleaners and more. Some exciting products currently available on Amazon that catch our eye include the Fujifilm Instax Mini 70 Camera, the Panasonic 43″ 4K Smart TV, the Jabra Elite Active 65t True Wireless Earbuds, and various Herschel backpacks. Fingers crossed that they will be on offer when Prime Day comes along!

For those who are always on the go, you can also pick up snacks and drinks such as the following:

Just like Prime membership itself, Prime Day does not only offer the best of the shopping world; members also get to enjoy world-class entertainment. Music lovers, mark your calendars for 11 July, 9am SGT. That’s when the Prime Day concert will be streaming live on Prime Video, ahead of the actual two-day event. Presented by Amazon Music, it’s a first-of-its-kind event that treats Prime members to an exclusive evening of performances by a few of the biggest names in music today.

Headlining the concert is none other than mega-star artist Taylor Swift, whose set will include her new chart-topping singles “You Need To Calm Down” and “ME!” The rest of the line-up features more popular and award-winning artists: Dua Lipa, SZA and Becky G, who will be performing their hits, too. Actress Jane Lynch will be hosting the concert.

Fans of the shows available on Amazon Prime Video should also tune in to the concert for exciting first looks at new content. Get a peek at upcoming new series such as Carnival Row and Modern Love, and new seasons of fan-favourites including The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, through never-before-seen clips to be aired during the concert.

Only Prime members get access to stream the concert. Those who are unable to catch it live can also watch it on-demand the next day for a limited time on Prime Video, which will include select songs from each performance.

For members who love gaming, great news – Twitch Prime is also getting involved in Prime Day, and in a big way. Besides offering free content giveaways for Apex Legends and EA SPORTS titles, the game streaming platform will also be hosting two Twitch Prime Crown Cup tournaments in London and Las Vegas. On 14 July, 1am SGT, watch live here as celebrity athletes such as Olympic champion runner Mo Farah, renowned footballer Thierry Henry, and five-time X Games gold medalist street skateboarder Leticia Bufoni, battle it out in London to earn themselves a top EA SPORTS title.
