As a diver or snorkeller, photography is a great way to immortalise the beauty of the sea. Here are five tips for stunning underwater photography for your next trip into the blue.
1. Choose The Right Filter
Don’t be surprised if you find your underwater shots looking dull and green. What you need are the right filters to correct the loss of colour and contrast due to depth. The first consideration in choosing a dive filter is the sort of water you’re using it in.
In most instances, red filters are used for blue and tropical waters, while magenta filters are used for green waters. Secondly, depending on the depth of your intended dive, there are several filters of different intensity to choose from. Low intensity filters are suitable for shallow waters (snorkelling) whereas high intensity filters should be used for deep waters (diving).
