Hair today, gone tomorrow. That’s the night-mare of anyone facing hair woes such as thinning hair, a receding hairline or an oily scalp. Weekender gave three treatments a try to see if they answered our needs.

“Having been told all my life by hairstylists that I have thick ‘unmanageable’ hair, I wasn’t sure that going for a treatment designed for thinning hair was the right choice for me.

However, years of perming and colouring meant my strands started looking dull and dry, and my scalp would oscillate between being incredibly oily or flaky. The hair near my roots also appeared ‘flatter’ and weighed down no thanks to the frizzy, processed strands at the bottom. I also noticed that amount of hair fall while in the shower had significantly increased in recent months.

As such, I decided to give the L’Oreal Serioxyl Scalp Treatment (prices starts at $59) a try. After a short consultation at Salon #1, I was treated to a relaxing Scalp Deep Cleansing Solution which helped to refresh my scalp and strip it of any dirt and grime.

Next, a three-step programme making use of the L’Oreal Serioxyl shampoo, conditioner and mousse followed. Finally, a Super Serum was applied to the scalp to promote denser and fuller-looking hair.

Before my stylist sent me on my way, she also recommended making use of the L’Oreal Serioxyl Thicker Hair Serum ($78) at home. It’s meant to help give your strands a boost and an instant thicker feel thanks to it being enriched by a combination of Intra-Cylane and Incell.

I left the salon with noticeably bouncier, more voluminous-looking hair.”
