A big runway show is taking over Orchard Road as part of the revamped GSS
It's the time of the year again to bargain shop till you drop! The Great Singapore Sale (GSS) 2019 returns from 21 June to 28 July. This year, the annual retail campaign seems to be joining in the bicentennial reflective spirit and going further than ever to embrace one of the most important parts of our Singapore culture - our love for shopping, of course! It's revamped as GSS: Experience Singapore, giving us not just huge sales and discounts, but also a line-up of fun retail-related activities on Orchard Road and at Kampong Gelam.
On 21 June, 3 to 5:30pm, witness 300 dancers and models walk a runway on Orchard Road, which will also host local film and furniture showcases. Shop vintage pieces while enjoying yummy food, music and games at Kampong Gelam from 5 to 14 July.

4. No-GST day & special discounts every Friday
Mark your calendars for 7.7! On 7 July, you get to save on the additional 7% GST when you shop at a selection of participating outlets. They will be absorbing the GST instead. We would only be finding out which are the participating outlets closer to the date, though.
There will also be more reason to cheer “TGIF!” this GSS season, because many retailers and F&B places will be dishing out greater discounts on Fridays.
