BP de Silva, owner of the RISIS jewellery brand, has been invited to join hands with the Community Chest to raise funds for the underprivileged in the run up to Singapore’s 50th birthday. Its contribution to Community Chest’s SG50 project – the Care & Share Movement – is a collection of handcrafted, limited edition pendants.

Each pendant represents a key milestone of Singapore’s growth since 1965, as seen through the eyes of five celebrated local storytellers – spanning nature, the arts, business, travel and, of course, food.

Iconic Individuals & Iconic Landmarks

The RISIS SG50 Storytellers are Dr Kiat W Tan, CEO of Gardens by the Bay and Advisor to the National Parks Board; Dick Lee, accomplished music director and composer; Anita Kapoor, television host and MC; Trina Liang, President of UN Women Singapore; and Dr Leslie Tay, Singapore’s most renowned food blogger and medical practitioner.

Being outstanding individuals in their respective fields, the RISIS design team worked with each storyteller to share his or her unique journey through the handcrafted pendants. The first of the collection was launched in August, with the remainder being released in stages leading up to Singapore’s 50th birthday in August next year.

Each of the five boxes illustrates an iconic local landmark. As a series, it visually represents Singapore’s evolving skyline over the last 50 years.

Each pendant will retail for $50 with 100 per cent of proceeds going to the Community Chest.
