In celebration of all things beautiful, Ashley Isham’s Autumn/Winter 2014 collection featuring womenswear and menswear took to the runway
Ashley Isham’s label is inspired by the genteel yet wild English countryside, in the country where he is based.
His distinctive blend of high-octane glamour and contemporary styling has won him an army of followers devoted to his vision. Even Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue and Angelina Jolie count among the celebrities who have carried his designs.
Translated into painterly winter florals, luxurious tweeds and glistening gems, the theatrical effect was complete on the runway of the Audi Fashion Festival at the Tent@Orchard by stunning models— with dramatic makeup, powerful strutting and strong gazes.
Interesting Mesh of Glamour & Classic
A combination of the elements revealed a touch of femininity and strength, true to his fashion motto.
The Autumn/ Winter collection was devoid of heavy wool fabrics; instead, we witnessed plenty of lightweight chiffon and lace. Perhaps the designs had Singaporean shoppers in mind.
A Dramatic Finale
While SK-II ambassador Godfrey Gao was an important highlight of the fashion show, he only made his appearance at the very end. Just before his entrance, all the models collapsed on the runway during the final catwalk, much to everyone’s surprise.
The applause grew louder when he, together with our home-grown designer, Ashley, strode towards the flashing cameras.
“We wanted to create something that wasn’t just a fashion show, where you go up and down. We wanted something more dramatic,” Ashley said.
Indeed, it was an unconventional and memorable finale to a fantastic show!
