Like her hit single with Drake, Rihanna sure has put in work into her makeup line for the last two years, before dropping it in all of its glory on 8 September in 1,600 stores across 17 countries. And similar to the superstar's recent Fenty Puma kicks, whatever she moulds out from hand, the world must have.
Case in point: Queues started forming outside Ion Orchard Mall's Sephora outlet here in Singapore on the previous night of the Fenty Beauty launch, amassing more than 100 people by opening time.
A decree passed down by the singer herself, inclusivity and diversity are mandates in the Fenty Beauty line, where products are formulated to not only work for all skin types, but also pinpoint a whole spectrum of skin shades. This is illustrated by the line's 40 foundation shades to suit every dark-skinned, pale-skinned, and the in-between beauty purveyor.
Along with its handy dandy beauty tools, the 91-piece collection is skewed to bring out a 'killer radiance' with its sparkly powder highlights and colourful multi-use sticks. Do take note, the Fenty Beauty line, like the majority of American-made lines, is suited for the full-on glamazon look, instead of the natural and dewy finish most Asians tend to lean towards. For instance, the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation ($50) provides high coverage, and true to its name, it totally mattifies the skin that cancels out any room for a soft, subtle glow.
With that saying, here are five products we tried and channeled our inner @badgirlriri:
