#NYFW Special: 5 Useful USA Airport Hacks

Avoid these mistakes at USA airports for a smoother trip

After flying 22 hours without in-flight entertainment, I heaved a big sigh of relief. I've finally arrived at the Big Apple, New York City, safe and sound.

However, the next hour and a half was spent finding my way around in old-school fashion - think physical maps and asking for directions. Looking back, I spotted some fatal errors that could have saved me time to explore the city instead.

Here are five things I've learned to prepare before landing in US for a trouble-free trip.

2. Get 360-degree spin-wheel luggages

I took Changi Airport’s complimentary trolley services for granted. That same free amenity will set you back US$6 in JFK airport.

Refusing to part with my money, I trotted through JFK airport with three luggages – but it was made easier thanks to my trusty 360-degree spin-wheel luggage, kindly provided by Rimowa Singapore for our #NYFW stint. The luggage wheels worked well with rough floor surfaces, and was smooth to roll in any direction, which definitely made it easier to move around.

This is definitely a great investment, but having a decent luggage aside, if you are travelling with kids or the elderly, I suggest getting the trolley. One trolley can place approximately four pieces of baggage, and will be a great help when you move from terminal to terminal.
