Feast your eyes (and tastebuds) on a curated collection of exclusive tipple
Masters of Wines and Spirits 2015 by DFS was held at T Galleria.
DFS has become synonymous with the perks of travelling, especially when it comes to duty-free shopping past the airport’s immigration counters for top-notch wines and spirits.
Yet without a flight ticket in hand, I found access to some 27 rare Armagnacs, baijius, Cognacs, Scotch whiskies and single malt whiskies.
DFS Masters of Wines and Spirits
At the DFS Masters of Wines and Spirits held at T Galleria, visitors got to enjoy exclusive cocktails inspired by featured brands.
This was made possible with the fifth annual Masters of Wines and Spirits organised by DFS at T Galleria. The event presented a line-up of exhibited collections and guided tastings by iconic brands, namely The Dalmore, Dom Pérignon, Hennessy, Johnnie Walker, The Macallan, Martell and Royal Salute, over four weekends in November.
The exhibited collection has now been moved to DFS’s flagship wines and spirits duplex store at Terminal 3, Changi International Airport.
Here are the top three exhibits to check out.
The Macallan Five Decades Collection
The Macallan’s Five Decades Collection features Fine & Rare vintages from 1946, 1950, 1975, 1989 and 1995.
Created exclusively for DFS, The Macallan’s Five Decades Collection is presented in an elegantly-designed bespoke cabinet — a work of art in itself.
The collection features five Fine & Rare vintages from 1946, 1950, 1975, 1989 and 1995. Each one is drawn from a single unique cask to represent a different decade, to commemorate SG50.
Not to be missed are the exceptionally rare Fine & Rare 1946 and 1950, which are among the oldest expressions that have ever been released to the public in the history of The Macallan.
The Martell Hidden Gems
The Martell Hidden Gems is housed in a stunning vintage Baccarat crystal decanter.
The Martell Hidden Gems is set in a stunning replica of a vintage Baccarat crystal decanter that was presented to Queen Elizabeth II in 1957 and to Emperor Hirohito in 1971 during their official trips to France.
Nestled in the treasured decanters are two individual eaux-de-vie, or colourless fruit brandy, dating back from 1875 and 1898, and with a blend made with these two brandies.
The Glenmorangie Single Cask Collection
The Glenmorangie Single Cask Collection is presented in an oak-carved case.
Beautifully carved out of oak, a wood vital to the creation of Glenmorangie whisky, is the handcrafted display case housing the collection.
In it, you’ll find five extremely rare single cask releases from Glenmorangie, each one bottled at cask strength and non-chill filtered for additional aroma and texture.
The exhibited collection will be showcased at Changi Airport DFS’s flagship wines and spirits duplex store at Terminal 3, Changi International Airport, from now until they are sold.
