It doesn’t matter if you know your Pinot noir from your Merlot or if you’re able to hold your wine glass as gracefully as a connoisseur — you’re welcome at Wine Fiesta all the same.

Back in its eighth year running, Wine Fiesta 2015, held from Oct 22 to 25, is Singapore’s largest annual outdoor wine festival and that simply means you get to mingle in the company of family and friends while indulging in the best of global wines and delicious foods.

Here are give reasons why we think you should get your hands on a Wine Fiesta ticket, pronto.

1. Toast to some of the best wines around

Toast to your favourite wines

With 350 labels and at least 70 global winemakers present at the fiesta, you’ll be hard-pressed to pick a favourite wine.

That said, both wine aficionados and beginners will have a ball of time enjoying interesting selections that range from red, whites, old world as well as new world.

Highlights include the saccharine yet refreshing AIX Rose 2014, the complex and fruity vina Pedrosa “Gran Reserva” 2006 and the slightly spicy Castello di Briolio Chianti Classico Grand Selezione 2011.

2. Taste the cooking of four renowned Singaporean chefs

In light of Singapore’s jubilee year, this year’s Wine Fiesta is shining the spotlight on local talent. So what better way to showcase our nation’s passion for food than with the creations of local chefs?

There’ll be Malcom Lee from Candlenut, Bjorn Shen from Artichoke, Matthew Mok from The Rabit Stash and Cheryl Koh from Tarte by Cheryl Koh.

Our pick is Chef Matthew Mok’s Beef cheek rendang burger with greens. Simply-executed yet bursting with the rich and creamy flavours of rendang, this burger is one dish to look out for.

For a sweet touch to your meal, try the decadent Chouquettes with dark chocolate and lemon curd dip by Chef Cheryl Koh.

3. Chill out to the tunes of homegrown music talents

With good food and fine wine at your disposal, all you need is some tastefully curated music to invigorate your evening.

Soak in the original songs composed by local music talents or dance the night away with DJ Funk Bast*rd (Darker Than Wax).

4. Get schooled on wine knowledge

This isn’t quite Wine For Dummies, but you’ll certainly be able to learn a whole lot of useful knowledge at these wine masterclasses.

The topics include wine and food pairing with dishes presented by the four local chefs mentioned above, how different glassware brings out the best in wines, the distinction between the Sauvignon Blanc styles of Australian and French winemakers and more.

All masterclassses are free and registration will be onsite on a first-come-first-served basis.

5. Indulge yourselves at the Winemaker’s Table Night

For an unforgettable experience, get your tickets to the Winemaker’s Table Dinner which will give you the rare opportunity to sample 75 iconic wines and vintages, with the respective winemakers playing host.

That’s almost as exclusive as being invited to dinner at the winemakers’ homes, right?

In addition, you’ll be tucking into cuisine prepared by the four homegrown chefs as well as The Fullerton Bay Hotel. The price for all of that — $228++ per person.
