Your children are surfing the Internet at younger ages these days. Focus on the Family tells you how you can be careful
Kids are surfing the Internet at younger ages these days. And online predators are getting bolder than ever.
That’s why it’s important to set clear rules for online safety.
1. Never fill out questionnaires, or give personal information, even if it’s a site that appears harmless – like a kids’ chat room.
2. Never respond to E-mails from people you don’t know. And never send E-mails to people you’ve met online.
3. When talking with friends online, never mention personal things like where you live or where you go to school. Remember that anything you write online can be viewed by people with the right computer skills.
4. As a young person, always tell your parents whenever you see something that upsets you.
Remember, when it comes to online safety, there’s no substitute for parental supervision.
