Pulau Semakau: Fishing & seabed finds

Pulau Semakau, also known as Semakau Landfill, mustn’t be mistaken for a smelly island of refuse. The island is in fact clean, green and in harmony with nature.

Away from the landfill operations on the eastern side of the island, untouched ecosystems thrive in the forests and seabed. In fact, the island is so rich in marine life that it has become a nature research site, even housing a coral nursery.

Sign up for tours to Pulau Semakau that include intertidal walks (by the National Environmental Agency), bird watching (Nature Society of Singapore) and sport fishing (Sport Fishing Association).
