You don’t have to go to a museum or an art gallery to learn more about Singapore’s history, culture and art. Our streets are embellished with wall murals that tell beautiful stories of Singapore. Tucked away in historic districts like Chinatown and Little India, the murals trace out unique trails for a budget-friendly romantic date or day out with friends and family!

5. Edgefield Plains, Punggol

Even our ol’ HDB void decks have been given a fresh, colourful coat of paint! Way back in 2010, participants from various different organisations got together to freshen up the walls across Punggol, including some HDB blocks along Edgefield Plains. Drawn with simple brushstrokes, the cheeky murals remind us of our own drawings at art and crafts classes – if only we were this talented! But that’s not the only dose of nostalgia they offer. The murals at Block 105D harken back to Singapore’s simple kampong days as a fishing village, while you’ll find a lively mix of everything from old rickshaws to our modern parks in Block 174.
