Shimano Inc recently launched the world’s first cycling gallery
Named Shimano Cycling World, the world’s first cycling gallery has been launched in Singapore.
Much More Than a Museum
Shimano Cycling World is located next to the Singapore Sports Museum in the recently-opened Singapore Sports Hub.
It is much more than a showcase.
As an experiential centre, it aimsto enrich and develop the local cycling culture and heighten awareness on the benefits of cycling.
First in Singapore Yet Again
Mr Matsui Hiroshi, Director & Senior Vice-President of Shimano Inc, said, “Shimano set up its first overseas factory in Singapore in 1973.”
“With the development of the Singapore Sports Hub, this provided a prime opportunity for Shimano to engage the community. Hence, the set-up of Shimano Cycling World, which is also the world’s first cycling centre to provide content for a cycling-related lifestyle and education for visitors,” he added.
Experiential & Interactive
At Shimano Cycling World, visitors can view, walk through and interact with a multitude of cycling exhibits including a moving piece of installation art, dubbed the Dream Machine. Visitors can learn about the latest developments in cycling technology, how cycling contributes to mobility, one’s well-being and environmental preservation.
Viewers can also explore cycling paths in Singapore, upload trip journals and share images with a network of enthusiasts and professionals worldwide.
