The Client List, the hot new drama series starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, is back
Texas housewife Riley Parks (portrayed by Jennifer Love Hewitt), deserted by her husband and left in serious financial straits, takes a job at a seemingly traditional day spa in a neighbouring town. But when she realises some of her co-workers provide “extra” services, she must make the difficult decision of whether or not to embrace the opportunity to resolve her financial problems.
In Season 2 of The Client List, Riley continues to struggle with the conflict between two different lives – as a single mother struggling to provide for her family, and as an ambitious woman working in a seedy establishment.
Heating Up Further
After last season’s cliff-hanger finale, Season 2 promises to be no easier for Riley. Her estranged husband Kyle (Brian Hallisay) has returned, for better or for worse, and she must walk the fine line between her anger and love for him and the romantic feelings she has for her brother-in-law, Evan (Colin Egglesfield).
Riley also takes on a larger role at the spa, resulting in added responsibility and burden, further complicating her life. New threats also abound and trust becomes an overwhelming issue for Riley as everyone, even those who she believes she can count on most, seems to be hiding their own secret.
Too Close for Comfort
Also starring in Season 2 of The Client List are Golden Globe winner Cybill Shepherd as Riley’s mother, Linette, and Emmy Award-winning actress Loretta Devine as The Rub of Sugar Land’s owner, Georgia.
In front of The Rub, with Kyle on one side and Officer Nathan on the other, Riley is sure that she is about to be caught red-handed with the client list. Much to her surprise, however, it’s Kyle whom Nathan has come for.
At the county jail, Riley and Evan learn that Kyle is suspected of stealing a truckload of copper wire from a construction company where he worked.
More Secrets
As word of Kyle’s arrest becomes public, Riley tries to keep the news from her kids for as long as possible while she raises the money to pay a lawyer. With things at The Rub threatening to fall apart following several resignations, Georgia returns to help out.
However, her new boyfriend knows nothing about what goes on there and she asks that Riley continue managing the business until she can figure out a plan. So, after making peace with arch-rival Selena in order to keep the doors open, Riley turns her attention to her work, starting with servicing a powerful client, Judge Hollis Overton.
Finally, to solve Georgia’s problems as well as her own, Riley offers to buy the Rub. Though Georgia agrees, she neglects to reveal that the spa is about to be raided by the police.
