Singapore’s theatre calendar is about to get a serious dose of Parisian glamour. Moulin Rouge!
The Musical will make its Southeast Asia premiere at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands, in February 2027, marking a major cultural moment for musical theatre fans in the region.
Presented in Singapore by Base Entertainment Asia, the production arrives as part of its first-ever world tour, bringing with it the spectacle, romance and high-energy theatricality that have made the show a global hit from Broadway to the West End.
Inspired by Baz Luhrmann’s beloved 2001 film, Moulin Rouge! The Musical transforms the world of Paris in 1899 into a lavish stage experience filled with dazzling costumes, soaring choreography, dramatic romance and a pop-fuelled soundtrack. The show is known for its bold “musical mash-up” style, weaving together more than 70 iconic songs across over 160 years of music, from classical influences to contemporary pop anthems.
At the heart of the story is Christian, a lovesick American writer, and Satine, the radiant star of the Moulin Rouge nightclub. Their love story unfolds in a world of bohemians, aristocrats, artists and dreamers, where passion and ambition collide beneath the lights of the famed Parisian cabaret.
But this is not simply a nostalgic retelling of the film. On stage, Moulin Rouge! becomes something larger, louder and more immersive. It is a celebration of Truth, Beauty, Freedom and Love, told through theatrical excess, visual grandeur and music that feels both familiar and freshly reimagined.
The production has earned major international acclaim, including 10 Tony Awards in 2021, among them Best Musical. It has also received an Olivier Award, Drama League Awards, Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle honours, cementing its reputation as one of the most successful modern stage adaptations of a film.
For Singapore audiences, the musical’s arrival is especially significant. Sands Theatre has hosted some of the world’s most recognised stage productions, but the Southeast Asia premiere of Moulin Rouge! The Musical is expected to be one of the most anticipated theatre events of 2027.

Several ticket sale phases have also been announced. The KLOOK x UOB Priority Sale begins on 4 May 2026 at 12pm, offering 20 per cent off all categories and performances until 28 June 2026, 11.59pm. A KLOOK x UOB Pre-Sale, available via Marina Bay Sands, SISTIC and KLOOK, begins on 5 May 2026 at 10am, also with 20 percent off all categories and performances during the same period.
Waitlist members will have access from 5 May 2026 at 10am, with 20 per cent off selected categories and performances, while the public early bird sale begins at the same time with 10 per cent off selected categories and performances. From 29 June 2026, UOB cardholders will continue to enjoy 15 per cent off all categories and performances until the end of the season. UOB is the official bank partner for the Singapore season.
To build anticipation, Base Entertainment Asia is also running audience rewards during the waitlist campaign. Two pairs of Gala Night tickets will be given away, with winners announced on the Base Entertainment Asia Instagram account on 26 April 2026 and 3 May 2026. During the Priority Sale and Super Early Bird period, one ticket-buyer will also stand a chance to win a pair of return air tickets to Paris, with the winner announced on 1 July 2026.
