Exciting news for DOTS fans! After repeatedly saying that there will not be a second season of Descendants of the Sun due to cast scheduling issues, KBS is rumoured to be producing season two.
The broadcasting company found that they could no longer ignore the demands from fans to continue the series. The drama department head of KBS, Jung Sung-ho, has revealed that the new season might be hitting our screens as early as 2017.

Conflicting reports
Unfortunately, it still remains unclear if lead actors Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki will be reprising their roles in season two.
GamenGuide had previously reported that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo already filming season two of Descendants of the Sun. But, other sources like Movie News Guide have said that the duo might not be a part of the second season due to conflicts in schedule.
If that is to be the case, then rumours believe that the new season will focus more on Sergeant Major Seo Dae Young (Jin Goo) and General Yoon’s daughter Yoon Myung Joo (Kim Ji-Won). The couple are fan favourites, and we even mentioned that they should have the main storyline here.
Alternatively, the new season could also introduce new characters that we might come to love as much as the old ones. Only time will tell and we will be eagerly waiting for 2017 to find out more.
