5. Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse
How many more Spider-People are there? Apparently, a lot. The first animated Spider-Man movie released in cinemas takes us on a wild ride into the Spider-Man multiverse, or “Spider-Verse,” where different alternate universes intersect. Brooklyn teen Miles Morales takes centre stage in this movie, but you’ll still be seeing Peter Parker, along with several other Spider-people. Yup, get ready to geek out as multiple Spider-people and their villains from the various Marvel universes collide, based on the action-packed Spider-Verse event created by Marvel Comics in 2014 and 2015. Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man Noir, and even the parody character Spider-Ham, are all reported to appear in the movie!
It may be a small tongue-in-cheek nod to the many Spider-Man reboots that were made, while giving us a fresh perspective with Miles Morales. Morales’ Spider-Man meets these other Spider-people when he crosses into another dimension, and works together with them to prevent a threat to all reality. Already named the best animated movie of 2018 by many critics, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse is a must-watch for fans of the Marvel comics.
