In the show, a group of 456 people who are all struggling financially are invited to play a life-threatening survival competition where the winner walks away 45.6 billion won.

4. Were There Hints That Oh Il-nam Was the Creator of the Game?

Of course! Everyone was scared when they were playing the game for the first time. Only Oh Il-nam had a happy face. This also echoed the old man’s last words, he was very happy when he “played a game” with everyone. He was also the last person to decide if the game should continue or stop at the beginning, giving everyone a second chance to decide if they still want to be in the game.

The Korean character “일” or “Il” can mean day, work, or first. Meanwhile, the second character “남자” or “nam” can be translated to boy or man. This means that Il-nam’s name actually translates to “first man.”
