The festive season calls for some feel-good flicks - but these ones aren't your usual yuletide tales
We all know and love the usual Christmas must-watch shows; titles like Home Alone, It's a Wonderful Life and Love Actually come to mind. But if you're hoping to avoid the usual suspects this year, you're in luck. There's a flood of interesting Christmas-related shows coming up that aren't dripping and soggy with too much sappiness.
Here are five that are worth catching. Parental discretion is advised; and by that, we mean you may or may not want to catch some of these with the folks in the room.

2. Doctor Who: The Husbands of River Song
Here’s something for the Doctor Who and sci-fi fans. It’s Christmas Day on a remote human colony, and the Doctor is hiding from the Christmas carols and comical antlers. But when a crashed spaceship calls upon the Doctor for help, he finds himself recruited into River Song’s squad and hurled into a fast and frantic chase across the galaxy. King Hydroflax is furious, and his giant robot bodyguard is out of control and coming for them all.
