3. Tala
The self-professed “crazy village lady”, Tala is Moana’s grandmother who offers sagely advice to our heroine in her times of confusion. It’s hard not to love Tala, who owns her quirkiness without reservation. Her actions and motivation don’t always make sense; nevertheless, she sticks to her beliefs and goes with her own flow, and that’s the message at the heart of this movie.
