8. The Shining
Widely regarded as one of the scariest movies of all time, Stanley Kubrick’s adaptation of the Stephen King novel takes a simple haunted-hotel-in-the-secluded-mountains plot into a creepy masterpiece. As a struggling writer slowly loses his mind in the mysterious hotel, he starts to terrorize his family and unveils a frightening force known as “The Shining”.
