1. Support local farms and sustainable food
Did you know that we have farms in Singapore that grow organic fruits and vegetables? It’s true; we even have poultry and fish farms! More than 10 local farms will be showcasing their fresh produce this weekend (7 and 8 July, from 10am to 8pm) at Sprout, Singapore’s largest farmers market. Happening at Suntec Convention & Exhibition Centre, Sprout is introducing a farm-to-people concept that allows consumers to learn directly from growers and producers where their food comes from and how it gets to their plates. Besides local farms, you’ll get to enjoy delicious and healthy food from a curated line-up of artisanal brands, specialty food purveyors and restaurants. Those who love to cook at home can learn some healthy recipes from renowned Singapore chef Violet Oon, who will be doing a live cooking demonstration. Or sign up for one of the many workshops that will teach you how to make your own herb butter, acai bowl and more!
