10. See David Bowie’s journey in Singapore
In December 1983, David Bowie arrived in Singapore for one of three Asian shows in his massive “Serious Moonlight” tour. Ricochet [M18] is a hybrid film depicting Bowie’s strange encounters on our side of the world.
In Singapore, he experiences the city’s dynamism by befriending Chinese Opera performers, drifting through alienating shopping malls and culminating in the troubled and almost-cancelled concert in the National Stadium.
Ricochet will be screened at the Pavilion at The Plaza, National Library Building, on 7 Jan as part of the Singapore Art Week (SAW) 2017. A guided tour will also take visitors to various places in the Asian films screened at SAW, including Ricochet.
