12. Onitsuka Tiger announces collaboration with Japanese artists KANTA&KAEDE

Onitsuka Tiger has announced a new collaboration with KANTA&KAEDE this April. The collaboration combines the brand’s classic MEXICO 66 silhouette with the drawings and illustrations of KANTA&KAEDE, a young brother-and-sister duo. While the duo was diagnosed with autism, they started developing their artistic skills at a young age.

At 13 years old, Kanta Wajima, the older brother of the two, is well-known for his drawings and illustrations, while younger sister Kaede Wajima, aged 11 years old, has developed a unique craft inpicture books and paper cut-outs. These two gifted and creative young artists have put their extensive talents to work in many ways.

Combining the hand-drawn patterns of Kanta’s intricate illustrations with Kaede’s paper cut-outs inspired by children’s stories, the Onitsuka Tiger’s iconic MEXICO 66 shoes is reimagined with this bold new design. Parents and children can now match their styles as the shoes are also available in kids’ sizes. Apart from the shoes, T-shirts, bags, and keychains are also available.

The collection is available at Onitsuka Tiger Takashimaya Shopping Centre, and Onitsuka Tiger Suntec City.
