10. Take it slow at So Gelam Market
A colourful and fun marketplace enjoyed by both locals and tourists, So Gelam Market aims to bring back the good old days of laid back weekends where neighbours gather to chat and relax over food, drinks and entertainment by talented friends. From 25 to 27 May, the idyllic Baghdad street will be closed to motor traffic and transformed into a street lined with colorful tents, fairy lights and batik buntings. There will be a variety of stalls including food, drinks and snacks, artisanal lifestyle products and more, all produced with love and passion.
The May market will be the special Ramadan edition set in the background of soothing sound prayers from Sultan mosque. Everyone is welcome to break fast or dine and relax on mats placed around the lawn in the centre of the market.
There will be singers on Saturday and Sunday from 5pm to 7pm before prayers start after 7pm. To complete the whole kampong vibes, there will be traditional games like skipping, spinning tops etc for anyone who fancies a game or two!
