Presented as an extension of the What is Not Visible is Not Invisible exhibition at the National Museum of Singapore, “Exchange of Handwriting” is an installation that’s actually a performance, and has the audience stepping into the room with it.
A man and a woman are given one task: Reproduce the handwriting from the original text presented to them. After a few hours, they exchange their manuscripts and reproduce the text one more time, making an effort to mimic the handwriting of the other person.
Visitors are free to enter and leave the gallery at any point during the performance. It will run from 14-21 Jan at 12pm-3pm and 4pm-7pm. Artist Jiří Skála will be present on 14 Jan for a post-performance talk.
National Museum of Singapore, 93 Stamford Road.
