You might know him for his gorgeous collaboration with Kendrick Lamar in Black Panther’s main single “Pray For Me,” or his short but sweet relationship with Selena Gomez. But The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) got his start in music since 2011 with a few cryptic videos on YouTube, and a mixtape that earned the praise of rap star Drake for his emotional and electronic edge to R&B.
Fast forward a few years, The Weeknd has been stacking up multiple Grammy awards, and headlined at Coachella music festival this year. Now, the rising R&B superstar is extending his global music domination with his first-ever Asia tour, including a stop in Singapore. After hitting Hong Kong and Bangkok first, The Weeknd will be gracing our sunny shores on 5 December.
Venue and ticket information have yet to be announced. We will update this page with more details when they are known.
We hope that The Weeknd will be delighting us with new music from his six-song EP, “My Dear Melancholy,” just released this March. But here’s hoping that some of his chart-topping hits like “The Hills” and “Starboy,” as well as old favourites like “High For This” from his first mixtape will be on the setlist too.
