Each year, many await with bated breath for the balloting results of the National Day Parade, hoping to score a coveted ticket to either a preview session of the NDP or the actual celebration itself.
Apart from the sheer spectacle of the night’s festivities, another major attraction is the range of locally-designed NDP goodie bags, which ae packed with vouchers, mementos and snacks.
One nation together
This year’s parade, themed #OneNationTogether, will feature a special tribute to 50 years of National Service.
The audience will be treated to a visual feast with a Salute to the Nation by five Republic of Singapore Air Force F-15SG fighter aircrafts, two exhilarating Dynamic Defence Display segments, as well as mass displays and special effects.
NDP balloting is now open till 4 Jun, so be sure to get your submission in via the NDP website, SMS, or SAM and AXS stations.
Options include the first preview show on 22 Jul, the second preview show on 29 Jul and the actual show on 9 Aug.
Calculating your chances
According to the NDP website, one can ballot for 2, 4 or 6 tickets. However, the lower the number of tickets applied for, the higher the chances of obtaining them.
As such, we recommend rallying your family and friends to all ballot for 2 tickets each, so as to increase your chances rather than rely on one person trying for 6 tickets.
Priority will be given to Singaporean citizens who balloted in 2016 but didn’t get a ticket — another reason to be thankful for your pink ICs!
Plus, those who attended the 2016 NDP shows will not be eligible for balloting this year.
Permanent ban for ticket scalpers
Those who were caught reselling tickets online will also be permanently banned from balloting. So don’t be tempted to resell tickets!
You can pass the tickets to your friends and family if you can’t make it, but selling them is out of the question.
NDP 2017 #OneNationTogether will be held at the Float@Marina Bay.
